My YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI Review

It's been a long time to watch a good movie. Yesterday, I watched YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, Indian movie at the Asian Film Festival. This movie gives me an different view in several ways. I already knew that group dancing scenes usually play on the Indian movie. As I thought, many musical things were played on this movie. Actually, I don't like this musical things in the movie, but this movie was quite interesting.

This movie shows many vivid colorful scenes with a cheerful music. My five senses were awake because of these factors in the movie; for example, many gorgeous color of costumes and props from the actors and actresses, backgrounds of exciting festivals and wedding events fulled with color powdering, spraying, and performing of the band, and each scenery of the worldwide. This characteristic plays a role which attracts film audiences. In fact, this made me not to doze during the running time..In contrast, there are surely black and white scene, such as an argument scene between female protagonist, Naina(?) and her mom, and a treck scene covered with a lot of snow. A harmony of the scenes with color and non-color let this movie have balance not to make this movie be too light or too heavy. Such factors were not expected from the Indian movies.

This movie was enough to arouse some sympathy from me. Throughout this movie, I could have a same role in family, school, work and other human relationship like Naina. I had many goals, achieved some of them, and I have been still pursuing some desires. However, I think I have still many things to learn in life. I felt that I am small and I do not have the big guts. I do not know about Indian culture a lot; however, I could taste their way of thoughts and some ideas although I cannot affirm that kinds of worries are exactly same as mine.

Moreover, this movie describes many stories about our life. In a movie, there are many stories, such as family, future, love, marriage, friendship, health, death etc... To a guy, who has been living in a very hectic life, father's death and a stable life with his life companion looked not too meaningful. However, a sunset scene given to him was like a time that he can look back on his life. I think, in the end, he had an answer what is more important in life. Somehow, because this movie dealt with our close daily life, I believe this movie gives me a time to review for my life.

In addition, I could see the human's instinctive feature in the movie. Most women tends to make a family although they also have a high expectation or goals in their life, and men try to mostly hunt for new things all the time. (Surely, in real life, there happens the opposite situation) This picture described in this movie in a similar way. Such a fact is biologically designed up, but I cannot say if it is good or bad...hahaha.

I had a really great movie time for a while. The one movie that I had watched gave me a time to look back on my life. Even if I am not a person who can fully embrace over a different view, I know I should try to be more open and learn about various wisdom in life. Even though there will definitely be many phases that I cannot control on my own way, sometimes, I wish unexpected things would happen to me in a good way ;)

p.s. The one thing that I do not like for this move is a title. One of my friend told me that the meaning of this YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, is Youth is crazy. It makes sense, the director probably would make the title with a lot of consideration. However, I think youth is very beautiful and precious time that I can pour my passion on it, so there is a certain wistfulness to my view not to just think like youth is crazy.
